Surprise!! Baby Wilder #2 will be here in August 2015! And we are so excited!

Another baby, ekkk! My little man is growing up so quickly, and is super pumped about becoming a big brother. He adores babies and keeps talking about all the things he's going to do with "his baby".

And I absolutely can't wait to find out if its a boy or a girl. Since we have a boy, everyone is asking if we're hoping for a girl. Truth be told, as much as I'd love hair bows and the cutest little girl clothes, I'm pretty obsessed with being a boy mom. So I suppose we're good either way.
Either way, y'all know that I'm just dying to redecorate the nursery now that Jake has his big boy room. Seriously can't wait to get my hands on that room again!

Feeling okay so far, though I'm happily in bed as early as Jake is.
And eating lots of candy (sorry doc).

I'm planning to do some monthly pictures again so I'm sure you'll be hearing more about this little one as the time flies by! 2015 promises to be pretty spectacular.

the 'W' bathroom reveal

Whew! I'm a little behind with this.
But goodness, things have been so busy! More on that later.

Our 'W' bathroom!
We've really been enjoying this clean little space. It's such a great beginning of the year project to paint a room white and give it a fresh look.
{check out the design board here}

Bathrooms can be a bit tricky to share because of their tight spaces. This one has a window, toilet and  standing shower on one side, with a vanity, mirror and an open space on the other.

I like the use of all the mixed textures in this room. Most of them are deep browns or blacks, but there is metal, wicker, wood and even ceramic here.

I kept my existing soap dispenser and added some other items on top of the sink.
Boxwood is from At Home (big retailer). Wire soap dish is from At Home (local decor boutique) and the 'W' was a quick grab at Hobby Lobby.

The black metal and glass shelf is an IKEA grab and super affordable.
I styled the shelves with:
 1. white towels 2.  a hand made 'W' art print and IKEA plant 3. some large hardback books 4. an IKEA basket holding a tissue paper stash.

The W piece is an inexpensive black frame with a 5x7 matte. I placed some newspaper print paper in the frame with a black cut out 'W' on top. Super cheap!

And lastly, I added some more 'W' art to the little wall by the window. A nice brown frame that I had on hand got a 'W' in black watercolor. A brown metal 'W' from Michael's got a coat of black spray paint before I hung it. And after painting the frame of that little chalkboard, I added a scripted 'W' to complete the wall.

I really can't decide what I want to do about the window. It's pretty plain as is, but I can't make up my mind between creating a faux roman shade or having J.B. build some tiny custom shutters.
Probably the latter when he can find the time.

So that's our clean little 'W' bath!

the W bathroom {design board}

One of things I asked for this past Christmas was to redo one of our downstairs bathrooms.
The corner bath off our dining room has basically had this look since we moved into the house and I was ready to give it a bit of face lift.

I'm now calling this the 'W' bathroom because I'd like to deck the walls with a few W's to represent our last name.  I also knew I wanted to go with white walls for a clean look, and I thought mixing metals around the room would be great.

So I have some ideas... next step? Design board!

The shelf from IKEA looked like it would be fabulous fit for that awkward space in the corner. Plus, IKEA, so affordable, right?

I'm planing on tossing in several baskets, a couple of pieces of greenery and of course, that W artwork.

So did it all pan out? You be the judge! I'll be back later this week with the reveal!

2015 reading list

How is 2015 treating you so far? Do you have any resolutions?
Have you broken any yet?

One of the ways that I sort of let myself down last year was in my reading list. I did pretty fabulous for the first half of the year, and then I sort of... quit. I'm not sure I read a single book after August. Boo me!

So this year I'm setting two reading goals.

Goal one: Read 24 books this year
That's two books a month. I can do it!

Goal two: Check off all the books on my 2015 book challenge.
I thought this would be another fun way to stay accountable with my reading goals!

Sounds fun right! Join in!
I'm already onto my second book of the new year!
