my recipe box

When I got married, my mom gave me an awesome gift - a collection of family recipes! Every recipe card was written by hand from each of the ladies that contributed. A few years ago when my grandmother passed away, I fully realized how special it was to have some of her favorite recipes written out just for me.

For the last few years, I've struggled to find a way to mesh my own recipes with these special ones. I wanted one cohesive way to store all of my recipes together.
I tried everything from a cluttered mess {not the solution} to an organized binder. And none of it seemed just right.

Then I finally found inspiration in a few great looking recipe boxes that were right up my alley. Soon the search was on for the perfect box. In the end, I purchased this white, vintage tin on Ebay.

I love it!

And since this tin is square, I also got to create my own custom recipe cards.

Here's what I came up with...

I also created a few dividers to help separate the various items.

There's even a little spot up front to store those lovely handwritten cards that I adore so much.

My sweet little recipe tin has its own spot on the bookshelf in my breakfast nook, right around the bend from the kitchen.

I looked into some other recipe boxes today to see what else was out there. Here's a few lovely ones that I saw:

And what about you?
How do you store your recipes?
