stitch fix review {box #1}

I mentioned awhile back that I had signed up for my first Stitch Fix box.
After reading about several others that had enjoyed the service, I was literally giddy to get the box in the mail!

: :  The Stitch Fix details  : :

 - You fill out a detailed style and sizing survey. It's actually pretty fun!
 - They send you a box of five items specifically picked out for you.
 - There is a $20 styling fee {which is credited towards any purchase you make! Yay!}
 - If you select all five items, you get 25% off your purchase.
 - You can select your own price range.
 - Any items that you elect not to purchase goes right into the return bag. All you have to do is stick it in your mailbox!
 - You give feedback on each item. So as time goes along, the boxes should get better and better as the stylists gain more understanding as to exactly what you love.

Time to share!
I'm pretty self conscious about this part so it feels incredible awkward to me {yikes!}. But I'd like to step out of my comfort zone and to see what you think about my items.

1. Chadrick Dot Chevron Striped Blouse by Sweet Rain
I seriously love this shirt. It fits great and is a comfortable and airy fabric. And this blouse is in my beloved neutral colors! I think it looks great with jeans, but would also look fantastic with a pencil skirt or dress pants. The sleeves are full length button sleeves, but also roll up into a buttoned 3/4 length too {as shown}.
Definitely getting this one!

2. Delano Front Pin-Tuck Tank by Skies are Blue
Like, don't love. The fit on this is not great across the chest {the buttons pull}. And I don't think you can tell but the hem line is much longer in the back than the front - a detail that I'm not wild about.
Big thumbs up for the color and general style, but I don't think I'll be keeping this one.

3. Amani Cowl Neck Sleeveless Blouse by 41Hawthorn
I like the concept of this blouse, but not the blouse itself. I'm not a huge fan of the cowl neckline and the material hangs weird around my waist {no thanks!}. Plus this blouse also has that weird long hem line in the back. I don't even know what to do with that...
 I like the color though. If it were super cheap, I'd probably pick this up to layer with. But as a full price shirt, I'm going to pass.

4. Dovette Draped Detail Dress by Dylan and Rose
Love this! This dress is a light, jersey fabric so its crazy comfortable. And I think its pretty flattering to any figure. The draping in the front keeps me from being self conscious and the neck line is just right.
I love black, but I do have several other black dresses. I sort of wish this was in a different color.
Still thinking of keeping this one though!

5.  Leaf Charms Long Necklace by 41Hawthorn
I don't like this. But I'm very particular about jewelry. I'm actually thinking that I might want to ask them not to send any more jewelry since I'm so hard to please. I'd rather have some more clothing items!

I love that all of the items come with a special styling tag on them as well. It gives you some good ideas of how the item can be worn...

So there we have it! What do you think about my items? Any you love/hate? I'd love some feedback!

Overall, I give this box a B minus.

I think they captured my sense of style pretty well considering this is my first box! I'll definitely be getting one, maybe two items. It was really fun to get a package in the mail and have no clue what could be in it! I felt like I had my own personal shopper.
I'll definitely be passing along plenty of feedback to the stylists and I'm already excited for my next box!

  1. I love the dress on you! I really want to try out stitchfix but I am hesitant because I dont know what the prices are. What were the price range on your items if you don't mind me asking?

    1. Danielle, they have different pricing categories depending on what you prefer to spend. While I would rather spend a little more for good pieces in my wardrobe, I'd still like to not spend a ridiculous amount on clothes. I selected the lowest category entitled "the cheaper the better".
      From there it goes up in $50 price increments: $50-$100, $100-$150, $150-$200, and $200+.
      You select a price category for item style. Like if you typically spend more on dresses or jewelry, you can up the category there.
      I'm in the "cheapo" category for everything, and I haven't had anything sent to me that's over $60.

      Hope this helps! Click the link and browse around the style profile if you like!

  2. That black dress is fabulous! I hope you kept it! I just got my first box in the mail this week, and I loved it! I agree with asking for less accessories to get more clothing items!
