Did y'all know I used to be a bank manager?
Well, I was.
Well, I was.
And this recipe was a hand-me-down from one of the tellers there. She had written it out on a piece of paper and copied it so many times that you could barely read the writing.
It's that good.
: : Ingredients : :
- 1 lb of ground sausage
- 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese
- 8 oz of sour cream
- 8 oz of cream cheese, softened
- 10 oz of diced chilies, undrained
- large loaf of Italian bread {optional}*
- chips for dipping
*I love to bake/serve this dip in a bread bowl, but you could swap the bread out for a baking dish as well.
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and brown the sausage.
While the sausage is cooking, prep your bread bowl. I typically use a loaf of Italian or French bread. Finding just the right shaped loaf can be a little tricky. You don't want anything too long and thin.
In a large bowl, mix the rest of the ingredients with the sausage.
Spoon into your bread bowl.
Bake for 35-40 minutes.
I like to serve ours with Fritos Scoops.
Yum!
