The Hunger Games

Have you seen the movie yet??

I guess it was about a year ago that I first discovered The Hunger Games trilogy. Loooved it. J.B. read the books immediately after I did and we've been huge fans ever since.
So when we found out that they were turning the first book into a movie, we were stoked!!

We've spent the last few months watching trailers, reading tidbits about the filming and over-analyzing the casting. Seriously, have I mentioned that we were excited??

Tickets to opening night were pre-sold in February. And yes, I reserved our seats at our favorite theater right away. Yes, opening night was March 23rd... and yes, I was due March 26th.

Considering that you never really know how the whole baby due date thing will actually work out, The Hunger Games movie became our own little back up plan. If Jake decided to be stubborn and overdue, we'd at least get to see the premier. If he came early, we'd have a sweet little baby to snuggle with and catch the movie some other time.
{having the option to return/refund the tickets up to 45 minutes before show time was a pretty awesome thing too}

Well, by now, you know how this played out. Jake came a week early and the night of the 23rd was one of our first at home as a family of three.

I've heard so so so many friends rave about this movie and honestly, I'm dying to see it! But I wouldn't trade an evening with my sweet baby for anything right now. Sometime in the next few weeks I'm sure J.B. and I will want to get out of the house and be adults while Jake hangs out with Gramma for a few hours. Maybe then we can catch up with Katniss, Peeta, and Gale.

Until then, I'll be snuggling up to my little man.

Happy Hunger Games!
