j.b.'s chili {recipe}

While I do most of the cooking here in the Wilder household, I'm still super thankful to have a husband who can maneuver his way around the kitchen as well.
I'm so excited that it's fall because I finally have an excuse to beg J.B. to whip up one of his staple recipes.

I believe this chili is a rendition of a chili recipe that his mom makes, but J.B.'s done some tweaking of his own to make it just the way we like it. It's thick and perfectly spiced and warms you to the core. And in keeping with his own manliness, the recipe is simple. Gotta love the efficiency of my hubby!

 - 2 lbs of ground beef
 - 1 bottle of salsa
 - 2 cans of sweet corn {drained}
 - 2 cans of chili beans {drained}
 - 2 cans of diced tomatoes
 - 2 tablespoons of chili powder
 - 1 tablespoon of cumin
 - 2 tablespoons of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of oregano

Makes a huge pot of chili - 8 or so folks.

I didn't include any pictures here because, well, you don't need them.
{and because you're tired of seeing my orange Rachel Ray cookware}

Brown the meat, then mix everything into a large pot.
Let it simmer for 30 minutes and then chow down!

We like to have ours with a little shredded cheddar cheese and sour cream on top.
{of course, this preggo girl gets a little extra!}

Happy Fall ya'll!

  1. Sounds delicious! It's good chili weather here in the Midwest this week. I might try this recipe, substituting ground turkey for the beef.
