I promise I'm still alive.

The last few days have been a bit of a whirlwind. We took off Thursday to spend the weekend at the beach. There was perfect weather, a perfect ocean and a perfect pool waiting for us at my mother-in-law's house in Panama City. Quite frankly, I'm just mad to be back.

We drudged back to work yesterday and both of us were immediately swamped. J.B. is still working on all of the claims due to the tornadoes in April, and I've had a super successful run lately with my job, which just means I'm all the more busy. Long days are the pits. Especially when they start with early mornings. I do not embrace the morning. At all. And I don't understand why our society operates at such ungodly hours. Why don't we all get started about 2 p.m. and have dinner at 10 p.m.? That would work for me.

So unfortunately, that means the blog can take a little bit of a back burner. Sometimes when I finally sit down at 9 p.m., I don't feel like drumming up a tutorial. Or editing some blogger mumbo jumbo. I just want to put my feet up, drink my sangria and watch So You Think You Can Dance until I fall asleep. I think everyone can understand the feeling right? You guys are as obsessed as I am, I just know it.

But I still have to keep you guys in the know. Here's what's been on my mind...

Hydrangeas. I've talked about it before, but its officially time. I have hydrangea envy {no green puns intended}. I don't know if its because I love them so much or if everyone but me really does have a gorgeous bush blooming in their yard but I am dying to have one right. now.

I have two itty bitty baby bushes in planters on either side of my front door. I had high hopes for them. And what do I have right now? One blossom.

And on that note...
Yard work.

I'm officially one of the lawn watering, weed pulling, planting every night homeowners. {Why does that make me think of a 60 year old retiree in gym shorts?}
Our new house is great on the inside but no so great on the outside. When the remodeling company did the renovations, they obviously couldn't have cared less about the damage they did to the yard. When we moved in we had a unkept, wooded backyard with no grass. {Basically, a mud hole.}
Add in two big dogs that like to wrestle in the back yard. Ugh.

We've been working hard the last couple of months to clean up the ground, get some flower beds in and grow some grass. Yup, grow grass. Its all I really want. Is it too much to ask for? A nice plush lawn? Before long, I'm going to get tired of all of this watering and just order some Brady Bunch style astroturf... But then no one would invite me to the neighborhood block parties ... I'd be the equivalent of that guy that leaves the Christmas light up {and maybe plugged in} all year round. Yikes. So my watering continues.

At the moment, I'm also waging a pretty epic battle against crab grass, poison ivy, and the hot hot Alabama summer sun. And losing on all three fronts, mind you.

I know, I know, my life really is all too exciting.

My pup, Denver.

Sweet sad boy has been sick all day.

Oh, it just breaks my heart. Denver is the happiest, funnest, sweetest dog in the whole wide world {clearly unbiased here}. And to see him even remotely down in the dumps is just sad. I decided to take him to work with me. {ok seriously, is there a legit "take your dog to work" day? I need to know. If not, its Jun 7th, and you all just missed it.}

He hasn't eaten hardly anything all day, which is kinda weird because he normally eats like a 13 year old boy {a lot}.  And all he's doing is laying around and sleeping.

I'm sure he's fine. Maybe its a bug. Do dogs get bugs? Are there any vets out there?

Omg, this face! Don't you just love him??

If he doesn't feel better tomorrow I'll cry. Really.

A new tutorial series. Its been on my mind. Sort of. I've had a lot of strange ideas, now I'm attempting to make any single one of them make sense.

I'm thinking about doing a series about how I don't need to do tutorials.

No really. That made sense to me. I don't know why you guys can't just crawl in my head and hear my thoughts...

Here's the deal. I'm always coming across all kind of fantastic projects. Most of which I'll try. But sometimes, I just have no excuse to do them. For example, here's only so much baby stuff I can send to my sister in law before she starts to worry that a. I'm a creepy aunt who needs to get her own kid already or b. ... ok, I don't really have a second scenario so I guess we're going with the first one. Another example, we just bought a house that, quite frankly, has more than enough space for the two of us. Doing a tutorial on something to save a ton of space or maximize storage or blah blah blah apartment living is really kind of not on the docket.
Anywho, so there are projects that I don't do.

But just because I don't need to do them doesn't mean that you guys aren't interested right? So maybe a series on the undone tutorials. I'm still trying to come up with a witty, yet casual name that I'll make some into whimsical design and make you want to hire me for my uncanny graphic design capabilities... Oh, stop your laughing. I do what I can.

I suppose that's all for now. It's late {though you're probably all reading this at some ungodly hour tomorrow morning while I'll be snoring.} Be thinking about sweet Denver. And bring me hydrangea bushes to plant in my mud hole yard. And for Pete's sake, if you think up a name for the tutorial series, send me a note!
