First Upholstry Project!

Remember this chair?

Yeah, Delilah didn't like it either.

We picked this up from our neighbor's curb. It's my very first reupholstering project and boy, was I nervous. While the chair was free, good fabric isn't cheap! {umm, and I had no idea what I was doing}.

But it was a success!

I don't know what I can do an actual tutorial on this since every chair is different, but the concept is pretty simple from what I learned. Three steps to be exact.
Step 1: Take the old fabric off the chair. The chair is like an onion, and to take off the old fabric you just peel back the layers one at a time. Make sure to take a picture at each stage! {something I wasn't very good at remembering}.
Step 2: Use the fabric pieces you cut off as patterns for your new fabric pieces.
Step 3: Put the pieces back on in the reverse order that you took them off {the last piece you took off the chair will be the first piece you put on}.

How about some photos?

And the finished product!!

I love the white! And it looks great in the guest room {more on that another day}.

Do you have any reupholstering victories?? Do share!
