So Many Ideas

I am overwhelmed.

Whew. Just saying it out loud is a little therapeutic.

{though this picture makes me giggle and feel a little better}

I've bitten off more than I can chew this week and I'm feeling totally jumbled and disorganized. My head has entirely too many thoughts swimming around in it right now. So bear with me as I take you all over the place. If you’d rather skip my jabbering, head on to another tutorial.

So here we go.

One of my favorite local photography studios {Armosa Studios - find them here} just opened up a shop in downtown Florence. I absolutely adore what they've done with the place.

Those colors. Wow. And their latest shoot in Turks and Caicos had me planning my next vacation.

This dog is giving me a run for my money.

She's really is a gorgeous dog.  Remember Christmas?

 But she can be quit a mess. Denver and Delilah are inside dogs, but this one loves nothing more than to run and play in the mud {usually immediately after she's had a bath}.
My goodness she's exhausting!

 Speaking of dogs ...

I rescued this one the other day.

 {ew, please disregard the dreadful rug/carpet at my office}

I was at work, busying myself in the office, and I happen to look up and see this sweet pup just sitting outside the door. I gave it some time, but she just never went away. Finally out of sheer love for dogs and fear of the super busy road in front of the business, I opened the door and let her in.

{sidebar: I have big dogs. So sometimes I miss having a little creature that you can pick up and hug and call "cute and adorable". Don't worry, I'm not going Elle Woods on you but, ... soft spot}

Anywho, she was super sweet and well-behaved. Knew her commands and loved nibbling on my Frosted Flakes {Tony the Tiger would love her}. But no collar.

Then, in weird deja vu moment I look up and see a beagle sitting outside my door. Really? Did this place smell like Purina or something? But as I went to the door, he took off running. Totally skiddish. Ok, whatever.  I had one dog to worry about already.
I call the husband, who jumps into action. Long story short, twenty minutes later the two of us and the sweetest dog in the world are in the car heading to the nearest vet. Maybe they could ID her. As we're driving down the road, I see that same beagle playing in a random backyard. I'm not sure what the logical progression of thought was here, but we decided to pull over and see if this was their dog too.

And um oh wow, it was! Seriously, what are the odds?? Little Piper is home safe and sound. Probably for the best because I'm absolutely not allowed to have any more dogs.

Also, I kind of felt like a super hero getting her home safe.
{my "super" standards seem to be at an all time low, eh?}

I just like to think that if either my children dogs, got out that someone who try to take care of them the same way.

I'm in semi-desperate need of new running shoes.

This definitely wouldn't be the end of the world if one didn't have size 5, uber narrow feet that are basically made of fine china thanks to my years on the track and many many stress fractures.

 So finding the right pair of shoes is kind of a big deal. Especially if you plan on putting some decent mileage on them. If you have the wrong shoe, your feet basically fall off and you have to walk around on stumps. I am not even exaggerating. If you have the wrong shoe, you actually fantasize about running on your hands,  having a fellow runner grab your legs and wheelbarrow you to the finish line.
Shoes last for about 500 miles. I have no idea how many miles I have on my current shoes - wouldn't it be great if they put little mileage ticker thingamabobs on your running shoe? {What the Sam Hill word am I trying to come up with? pedometer? ODOMETER! That's it! Oh, geez, thank goodness I thought of it because I'd be a nutbar trying to figure it out all day.}

If anyone has any recommendations, let me know. Due to my itty bitty baby feet, I'm usually a Nike girl.

Once this dreadful cold weather is gone, the husband and I have got to get to work on the landscaping at our new house. It's 100% drab right now.

But all I can think about is my love for hydrangeas.

Maybe I can work in some bushes in the front yard.

...........................................................................................................

I can't stop eating these.

Brownie Covered Oreos.

DROOL.

Recipe to come later today. I promise.

........................................................................................................

Hmm, anything else?

I'm working on what I hope to be a stellar handmade item to a mommy-to-be at her baby shower Saturday. The thing about projects like this is that they either turn out just like they are in my head {fantastic!} or they are a complete and total dud. It's really a 50/50 shot.
I'd give you a preview but she's a follower so you'll all have to wait.

I heard a rumor that Project Runway is filming an "all-star" season right now. OMG!

I'd really like to join a book club. Can I do that without be a doilie-wearing, cat lady? Is anyone out there in a book club? Feedback please.

.....................................................................................

Ok I think that takes care of most things. Be sure to skip the afternoon snack so you can treat yourself to some of those brownie covered oreos I'll be posting about later. It will be completely worth it!

  1. I am getting ready to participate in an online book club for the first time. We're reading Ann Voskamp's new book *One Thousand Gifts*. It's going to be amazing! Here are some links so you can check it out in case you're interested:

  2. Thing 1: I've got Nike Lunar Glide + 2. Love them.

    Thing the second: My girlfriends in the DC area have a book club, and I'm super jealous. Add this to the fact that I HATE cats, and I fully support your book club decision. Just wish you lived closer.

  3. Lora, I may have to check out those online book clubs. Thanks for the suggestion!!

    Kelly, that may be only way we can be doilie-wearing (skip the cat loving) book club members together. Haha.

  4. Ok seriously. I think we live in parallel universes.
    My Pyr looks seems to think mud is better than soap.
    Hydrangeas are my most favorite flower.
    I don't run but am about to as my newly aquired trainer has informed me. I have no idea about running shoes and wouldn't know a good pair if they hit me in the head.
    I also am absolutely forbidden to have any more furry kids.
    And, you just had to post those blame brownie covered Oreos didn't you. I'm on Weight Watchers sister. You know how many points those things are! lol
