Life has been a bit crazy. I had two good friends get married in May and June. With that came not only weddings, rehearsals and dinners, but also bachelorette trips, bridal showers, and hours and hours of wedding prep and design. All around it was generally a good (busy) time, and I'm super excited for both of these ladies and their new husbands. Life is so freaking exciting when the whole world is right in front of you!
July hit and the wedding mania was over. But of course, Wilders never slow down. J.B.'s Dad gave us his boat at the beginning of the summer. J.B. and I put a considerable amount of sweat and cash into it and we've gotten her going! Even though I grew up on the Tennessee River, I've never had a lot of opportunities to spend time skiing and playing on the river so this is a new place for me. There's just something about a beautiful day out on the water. I'm still too chicken to really do much in the way of water skiing but J.B. promises to teach me when I'm ready.
J.B. got free tickets to a Braves game on the 15th so we headed to ATL for the weekend. The game was almost insufferably hot but an overall neat experience. And they won - added bonus!
That weekend also was my very first trip to IKEA. Holy heaven.... I don't even have words. For those that don't know me - I'm an artsy, crafty woman that feels the need to redecorate on a monthly basis. Suffice it to say that my husband is a brave man for even allowing me enter through those hallowed halls. But I didn't have a lot that needed to be fixed up at the time so we survive only $60 the poorer. Crisis averted ... for now. Its a good thing its four hours away. Don't think I'm not already planning my next trip ...
Our first anniversary is the 25th! I can't believe is been almost a full year of being a Wilder! I've spent so much of my life wishing I was in a different place in life. "If only I was out of school or married or older..." I've worked really hard this past year to just enjoy life. J.B. and I are so incredibly fortunate to be blessed with so many good things - jobs, house, dogs, cars, boat. And we really try to live our lives to the fullest.
So, we've been married a year. Now what do we do? GO TO DISNEY WORLD, of course! That's right folks, the trip is official. We decided to hold off until summer slow down a little so hopefully the park won't be as crowded. Disney World from August 28 - September 3! We're both five on the inside so to say that we're excited would be the understatement of the year. I've been doing my park and travel research lately - who knew planning Disney was so intense?! Dining plans, resort parks, Magic Your Way tickets, FAST passes. Whew, I'm exhausted already! I'll just have to take some of my tension out on the Tower of Terror!!
